Le Cinématographe (Asile, 14 mars 1902)
Un cinématographe propose une séance de vues animées à l'Asile en mars :
Cinematograph Entertainment at Omagh Asylum.
On Friday night last a very enjoyable cinematograph entertainment was given to the patients of Tyrone and Fermanagh Asylum, Omagh, in the large dining-hall by Mr Wm MacFarlane, of Omagh. The views exhibited covered a large area, and although not as distinct as one would have wished, by reason of an accident to the machine, still they were none the less highly appreciated. A number of short humorous stories told by camera were first shown, the majority of which were exceedingly laughable. These included the sweep and the whitewasher, the Boer scout and the artist, home from the Front, or the evil effects of a wash ; the baker and sweep, walking beggar, snowballing, cycling absent-minded beggar, the amateur conjurer, and the magic umbrella. There was also shown a fine collection of comic cycling snap-shots. Several moving war pictures were displayed to good effect amongst them being—troopers fording a river, a military review, a naval battle, attacking a fort, Gordon Highlanders for the front. In addition to these were a large number of moving pictures, which included—Photographing a ghost, railway station scene, Spanish bull light, skirt dances, the automatic machine, playing golf, the rival lovers, etc. The entertainment concluded with a beautiful representation of the King and Queen opening Parliament, which was loudly cheered. The patients throughout appeared to thoroughly enjoy the entertainment. During the evening Miss MacFarlane supplied appropriate accompaniments to the pictures on the piano.
