Le cinématographe (Town Hall, 30 septembre 1898)

À l'occasion d'une fête donnée par la Temperance Friendly Society, des vues cinématographiques sont au programme des réjouissances :

INDEPENDENT ORDER OF RECHABITES.
ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION AT HALTWHISTLE.
The Anniversary celebration of the ' South Tyne' Tent of the above Temperance Friendly Society was held on Friday, September 30th, when a grand entertainment was given in the Town Hall. The following programme was rendered. Song," Tom Bowling" Mr Johnson, Hexham; humorous song, "Dotty on the Ditties" Mr Edwin C. D Winter, Newcastle (encore: recitation, "Kaisey on the Ball); Song, "Dreams of Paradise " Mr W. Dyke, Prudhoe, illustrated by beautiful limelight pictures; an exhibition by the new kinematographe of the following realistic scenes: The vanishing cigar, a ghost scene, a scene from the Spanish-American war, Spanish bull fight, fancy costume race, the late Mr Gladstone's funeral procession, march past of the Black Watch, Highland dance.
