James Dore présente des vues animées en janvier :
ANIMATED PHOTOGRAPHS.-The annual prize-giving and entertainment to the children of the Christ Church and Lake Sunday schools took place in the Town-hall on Thursday. There was a large muster, and for hour the children enjoyed games. From 7 to 8 o’clock there was an exhibition of animated photographs by Mr. James Dore’s new and splendid apparatus. The entertainment was a great success, hearty cheers being given for Mr. Dore and his assistants. By special arrangement of Mr. Dore’s, while the apparatus was being prepared for “animated” pictures, slides of a miscellaneous character were exhibited from an ordinary limelight. The Rev. W. T. Storrs afterwards presented the prizes.

The annual tea to the parishioners of Christ Church, Sandown, was provided at the Town-hall on Wednesday evening.

An attraction during the evening was an exhibition of animated pictures by Mr. James Dore, C. C. Many of the beautiful slides for which Mr. Dore is famous were shown, and two local animated pictures, one showing the shore in the season, the other the waves dashing over the sea wall, taken by Mr. Dore himself, were very popular items in this part of the entertainment. Everything passed off very successfully, and in closing a New Year's hymn, which Mrs. Baillie had had specially printed, was sung.

THE KURSAAL.-The attractions at the Kursaal during the week commenced with exhibitions of animated pictures by Mr. James Dore, and the audiences were very large. On Wednesday evening "The Pals" commenced a series of performances.
