DICKENS RECITAL.
The first of his series of recitals from the works of Charles Dickens will be given in the Choral Hall this evening by Mr Charles Davenport. The subject will be "The Cream of Pickwick and David Copperfield," and this recital has been one of the most popular of Mr Davenport's repertoire and has won him much praise in other centres. It is said to display the entertainer's versatile talent to the bast advantage. The recital will be illustrated by large numbers of views, shown by Mr Herbert Wyndham, who has in use a device which enables the pictures to be seen while the lights in the hall are burning and the lecturer is in full view of the audience. The plans of reserved seats are at the Dresden.
