A TYPICAL BURGLAR approaches a house, and after vainly trying the door succeeds in opening the window and getting through. A policeman passing along his beat sees the window open, and puts his head and shoulders through on which the burglar promptly shuts down the sash, and climbs through the upper part, bearing down the sash with his whole weight on the squirming policeman who cannot defend himself. After lighting his pipe the burglar jumps down on the policeman's back and so escapes. The householder, who runs out in his nightshirt, is collared by the policeman, who speedily sees the mistake he has made. This is a novel idea, well worked out and screamingly funny.
