Market Scene, City of Mexico

Taken at the famous market place in the City of Mexico, where native Mexicans and Indians dispose of their produce of chillies, sweet-potatoes, sugarcane, sweet-meats, pottery, etc. It is a motley crowd of all sizes and types. The Mexicans and Indians are going to and departing from the market, with various articles of merchandise in their hands. Their features are sharply defined, and their different expressions are plainly seen. This is considered one of the "sights" of Mexico, and is witnessed by all tourists who visit this very interesting capital.
