LEAVENWORTH
Jean-Claude SEGUIN
Leavenworth est une ville de l'état du Kansas (États-Unis).
1897
L'eidoloscope (Crawford's Opera House, 27 janvier 1897)
THE EIDOLOSCOPE.
In the last act of "Carmen" as to be produced by Rosabel Morrison, at Crawford's tonight, is given an actual bull fight lasting fifteen minutes without cessation. To the ordinary layman this statement savors of the usual, much to be regretted colorable statement too frequently resorted to by managers in order to attract attention and draw patronage. In this instance, however, no subterfuge is resorted to, as a bona fide bull fight, full life-sized, is actually presented just as announced. In the bull fight which is shown in Rosabel Morrison's production of "Carmen," the possibilities of the Eidoloscope are well exploited. Clouds of dust kicked up by the bull hiding him from sight and then rolling majestically away, make it hard to believe that the actual arena is not a tangible reality.
