The Eruption of Vesuvius

Wierd and Wonderful
The World’s population has been thrilled within the last few days by the accounts of the Great and Epoch-marking Eruption of Mount Vesuvius-the most serious and destructive since A.D.79, when Pompeii and Herculaneum were destroyed. 1827 years ago.
By a fortunate coincidence our Mr. Bromhead was in Napes recently, and only ten days ago made the ascent of Vesuvius which was then in violent eruption. He secured pictures on the Funicular Railway (now wiped out of existence) ascending the volcano, also pictures.
LOOKING INTO THE GREAT CRATER,
And of
STREAMS OF MOLTEN LAVA RUNNING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN SIDE.
The sight is awe-inspiring and wonderful, and when on remembers that it is now impossible to go within a mile or two of the spot on which the pictures were taken, the value of the film cannot be over estimated.
REMEMBER.-It is positively only ten days ago since the picture was taken, immediately before the widespread havoc was wrought.
