The Fig Mites and Maggot

The Fig Mites and Maggot
This is a very interesting and novel film. A box of dried figs is opened, and a boy is seen thoroughly enjoying the contents of the box. His friend appears on the scene, and the two boys are making very short work of the figs, when one lad pulls out a magnifying glass to examine the dainties. Both boys evince surprise and alarm at the sight revealed by their rnagnifying glass ; but their consternation gives place to broad smiles at the curious antics of the inhabitants of the figs. Hundreds of queer, uncanny fig mites, clothed with long silvery hair, run about, in all directions, fighting, chasing each other, &c. Then the portrait of the fig-maggot is seen, presenting a wonderful animated picture of how the creature forms in its mouth the silk with which it spins its cocoon, and how it uses its great jaws to remove the silk. Altogether a most striking and remarkable film.
