Le Vitascope (Heck and Avery's Museum, 26 octobre 1896)
Le Vitascope présente des vues animées en octobre :
THE VITASCOPE STILL A WINNER.
That Edison's wonderful vitascope has lost none of its power to draw proved by the tremendous crowds that visited Heck and Avery's Museum yesterday afternoon and evening. It was a warm and balmy day, such a day as would naturally impel people, foreseeing the swift approach of winter, to spend it in suburban regions rather than in the close confines of the theater, yet both in the afternoon and evening the crowds to the vitascope were large, filling to overflowing the cozy little family auditorium in which it is exhibited. A new feature of the exhibit[i]on of animated pictures yesterday was the introduction alternately of the vitascope pictures and of Lumiere's cinematographe views. These, of course, are foreign pictures inasmuch as the cinematographe is a foreign invention. It parellels the vitascope in point of importance, and it is to Europe what the is to America. It is being exhibited all the principal European cities, and is now being exhibited in New York and Chicago, in opposition to the vitascope. Messrs. Heck and Avery, however in order to show their disposition to leave nothing undone that could contribute to the pleasure of their patrons, secured a number of cinematographe views, and are now presenting them alternately with the vitascope. Among the cinematographe pictures presented was the coronation of the Czar, where all the royalty of Europe, including Queen Victoria, the Emperor William, the Prince of Wales, and other notable personages are seen to pass in review before the audience, just as natural as life: a scene of the river Seine, the palace in Paris and other interesting subjects are illustrated. The new vitascope pictures are better than any yet seen, one being a representation of the Passaic waterfall. A boys' swimming school and a dance by three beautiful Terpsichorean artists in one of the New York theaters, are also interesting. Taken all in alt the vitascope exhibition this week, with the cinematographe pictures, is the best yet presented.

Le Cinemotoscope (Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church, 18-10 décembre 1896)
Le Cinemotoscope présente des vues animées en décembre :
CINEMOTOSCOPE
A very novel entertainment will be given Friday evening and on Saturday afternoon at the Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church, under the auspices of the Woman's Home Missionary Society. Twenty handsome views will be presented by means of the "cinemotoscope," which is an improvement upon the vitascope. The pictures, life-size, will be thrown upon the canvas by electric light, reproducing every motion. Some of the views will be Li Hung Chang leaving the Waldorf, New York; the steamer St. Louis, leaving the harbor; Passaic Falls, Paterson, N. J. " A Runaway in Central Park;" "The Morning Bath;" The Haymakers;" "A Burning Stable," &c. A mandolin club will furnish music.

Le kinetoscope parlor renouvelle son programme :
It is getting to be the fad of the times now to visit the free phonograph and kinetoscope parlors at Heck's Wonder World Theater. A new program is presented this week, presenting some of the songs now being sung with great success in New York City.
The Cincinnati Post, Cincinnati, mercredi 16 novembre 1898, p. 4.

Burton Holmes, the traveler-lecturer, who will appear at the Odeon Thursday evening, claims to have the first animated photographs of the Moki Indian "snake dance" ever taken. These will be shown by the chronomatograph, with other pictures during the lecture. The advance sale of seats promises a crowded house.
