To-day's Tournament
IN THE LISTS AT THE EXHIBITION.
The Marvellous Performances of the Hussars are Again Admired, and Applauded.
Although the weather was threatening during the afternoon no rain fell, and there was again a large at6ndance at the third of the Exhibition tournaments on Friday. The programme of' events included cleaving the Turk's head, Iemon cuting, sword v. sword competition, mounted quadrille and bayonet exercise, and physical drill by a party from the 41st Welsh Regimental Depot (accompanied by the regimental band, under the conductorship of Bandmaster Kelly). There was also a may-pole display, a cavalry [m-lee], a lance v. bayonet competition, and tent pegging, and the tournament concluded with a repetition of the realistic representation, of an incident in Matabele warfare The appearance of the 8th Hussars and their wonderful management of their splendid houses was again generally admired. During the mounted quadrilles Mr. Bert Acres took a series of several thousand of consecutive photographs of the different figures, and these will be produced next week at the Kineopticon in Old Cardiff. The bayonet exercise and physical drill of the party of the 41st Regiment was a feature of the tournament, the exercise being gone through with accuracy and military precision. We have already described in detail the incident in Matabele warfare, and it proved as great an attraction to-day as it did on Thursday. The fourth tournament will take place this evening at six o'clock.

MILITARY TOURNAMENT AT THE KINEOPTICON.
On Friday afternoon for the first time were shown the excellent photographs taken by Mr Birt Acres at the Military Tournament held in the sports arena of the Cardiff Exhibition a short time ago. There are views of six incidents—the first is sword v. bayonet competition, followed by a view of the Mule Battery, showing the men rushing on to the field and firing the guns. The others are cutting the "Turk's head." dancing the quadrilles, and plaiting of the maypole.
