Hotel Del Monte

This magnificent and well-known hotel, located at Monterey, Cal., on the line of the Southern Pacific Railroad, forms the background. It is one of the largest and best appointed hotels in the country. It is surrounded by a luxuriant growth of Palms, Oleander, Cypress, Pampas Grass and other tropical plants, many of which are shown in the picture. The view shows a party starting on what is known as the seventeen mile drive, being conveyed in a six-horse coach, two four-horse wagons and one two-horse vehicle, all of which lend action to an artistic subject.
