Boxing for Points

This subject was taken at the Grand Military Athletic Tournament, Presidio Military Reservation, San Francisco, Cal., Sept. 9, 1897, held under the auspices of the Lincoln Monument League. It shows Private Darrin, Battery G., Third Artillery, and Corporal Healy, Troop B, Fourth Cavalry, in a lively fistic encounter, seconded by their respective officers.This is one of the regular features, the points counting in the final score. As a consequence, a fast, hard hitting, scientific battle ensues, during which one of the contestants scores a knock-down. An immense crowd of spectators is shown in the background. A sharp, clear picture with action from start to finish.
