Wall Scaling

Taken at the Grand Military Athletic Tournament, Presidio Military Reservation, San Francisco, Cal., Sept. 9,1897 , held under the auspices of the Lincoln Monument League, shows a team from Company G, First Infantry, and a team from Company D, First Infantry, in full equipment, scaling a sixteen foot wall. The pictures show the men running to the fence, climbing on each other's shoulders, thus reaching the top, and then leaping to the ground on the opposite side. A true reproduction of a difficult and exciting military manœuvre, full of action, with figures life-size.
