Cañon of the Rio Grande

Cañon of the Rio Grande

Taken along the line of the Denver and Rio Grande R.R. in the above Canon of the Rocky Mountains. The Canon is 16 miles long and the two sides rise abruptly to a height of from 2,000 to 2,500 ft. The background is formed by these rugged rocks. Action is lent to the scene by the approach of a passenger train, drawn by two locomotives, which cornes around a sharp curve and passes the audience, head-on. This is a beautiful piece of natural scenery, and is one of the points of interest to which the attention of passengers is particularly drawn.
