Le Vitascope (Washington Park/Fairmount auditorium, <8> août 1896)
Le Vitascope présente des vues animées au Fairmount auditorium en août :
NEW PICTURES AND PEOPLE.
Vitascope Attractions and Vaudeville Specialties in Continue at Washington Park.
The third week of vitascope will open at the Fairmount auditorium Sunday evening, in connection with the Casino Comedy Four and the Third Regiment band. Beginning Monday evening and running all the week the vitascope pictures and high class specialties will continue the bill as heretofore.
The new pictures to be introduced to-morrow evening will include the celebrated hypnotic scene from "Trilby" as burlesqued by the David Henderson company, a graphic picture of Battery park, New York; a view of Passaic Falls, N. J., and a reproduction of the acrobatic dance of the Leigh sisters. Of course the May Irwin kiss from the "Widow Jones" will be retained, as will "The Village Blacksmith Shop," Cissy Fitzgerald and her wink and kick from "The Foundling," and the picture, "Sea Waves," which has made such a pronounced hit the past week.
The specialty features there will be the Namedoes, European eccentriques, in four separate acts, and the Casino Comedy Four, in a new musical sketch entitled, "Stranded Minstrels." The Comedy Four are re-engaged from this week.
The vitascope pictures and specialties have proved wonderfully popular and the Fairmount auditorium has done the largest business in its entire history. The bill will probably be continued until the horse show in September.
