The Biographe
It is doubtful if a more enthusiastic lot of people ever attended an entertainment in Canastota than the crowds that witnessed the work of the wonderful biograph in Bruce Opera House Thursday evening and last evening. After each picture exhibited the applause was tremendous. Canastonians are proud of the fact that the machine is a product of the village. George W Chapman announced the views [froid] the stage as they are about to appear and every time he mentioned the name of the inventor Herman Casler, or referred to the manufacturer, Marvin & Casler. Thursday night, there was lots of cheering. Thursday evening the engine that furnishes the power broke down as the thirteenth picture was being exhibited. The audience was somewhat disappointed in not being able to see all of the views on the program— there are twenty-seven different ones each evening-but as all present, who desired it, were given a half rate admission last evening, “there is no kick coming.’’ The biograph is to be seen again tonight and no one should miss being at the opera house.

Nearly every seat in Bruce Opera House was occupied last evening on the occasion of the second public production in Canastota of a line of picture device, the American biograph. People seemed to appreciate the fact that they were enjoying an entertainment which only has been given in large cities. Exclamations of surprise and astonishment: laughter at the comic pictures and prolonged and hearty applause [...] to the fact that the entertainment gave [...]ounded satisfaction.
Last night a few of the favorite views produced [...] last July were again reeled off. They included "McKinley at Home," "Empire State Express" and "The Pillow Fight." And the new views! those that have not before been publicly shown in Canastota...

During the evening Phoenix's Juvenile orchestra played in ist usual plensing way.
