The Wreck of the Schooner "Richmond"

This picture was taken within a few hours of the wreck, just after the crew had been taken off by the life-savers. The vessel appears beating up-on the rocks, while enormous billows roll over it from stern to stern.

Rockland, Me, Schooner Wrecked Last Night Off Jersey Coast and Will be Total Loss.
SPRING LAKE, N J, Oct 21-After an all-night fight with the fury of a windlashed sea that taxed the hearts of three life-saving crews, four men were rescued today from the schooner Richmond, a two-master hailing from Rockland, Me. Se is stranded on the outer bar, 200 feet off shore, at this place.
