This is a side of the wreck of the shooner "Richmon", taken shortly after the vessel was driven ashore. A very high sea was running at the time, and the water effects are sublime.
RICHMOND'S CREW SAVED. Rockland, Me, Schooner Wrecked Last Night Off Jersey Coast and Will be Total Loss. SPRING LAKE, N J, Oct 21-After an all-night fight with the fury of a windlashed sea that taxed the hearts of three life-saving crews, four men were rescued today from the schooner Richmond, a two-master hailing from Rockland, Me. Se is stranded on the outer bar, 200 feet off shore, at this place. [...] The first indication of the wreck was brought to the notice of a Dr Trout, who lives near the beach.
