Le Cinematograph (Holmfirth National School, 4-5 janvier 1897)
À l'occasion d'une vente de bienfaisance, des projections de vues animées sont prévues :
HOLMFIRTH PARISH CHURCH SALE OF WORK.-On Monday and Tuesday a sale of work was hold in the Holmfirth National School, and was opened on the former day by Miss Blomfield, in the unavoidable absence of Mrs. C. J. Brook, of Meltham Mills. [...] Entertainments were given in the classroom, including the cinematograph, the Le Merveilleux talking machine, and the farce-by the senior scholars-entitled, "A nice quiet morning." Selections of music were given at intervals, and altogether the sale was most successful, the sum of £110 being realised.

Le Cinématographe de Harry Bamforth (The Feast, 30 mai 1897)
Le photographe Harry Bamforth organise une séance de projections de vues animées avec son cinématographe à l'occasion de la Fête locale :
THE FEAST.-In cold, damp, and cheerless weather, the event of the year, almost, has been celebrated, and, as is the usual practice, opened with the customary canter on Saturday evening, previous to which the caterers for the people's requirements have for weeks been busy, and the household arrangements have been such as to cause many a jar in otherwise peaceable families, bat "th' fettle" being over, and all looking spick and span. contentment reigned supreme amidst plenty of good beverages and viands, not forgetting the immortal "caah pie."
[...]
Having paid your penny you get into a convenient room, the cinematograph is shown, and in as many minutes you had seen many hundreds of photo. This counter attraction is a venture of Mr. Bamforth, of this town, who, like all the folks that come to the feast on business, don't come to make money, but merely to interest and enlighten the people in the district at a great personal sacrifice.

Le Cinématographe d'Harry Bamforth (The Drill Hall, 22 juin 1897)
À l'occasion du jubilée de la reine Victoria, Harry Bamforth propose un programme de vues animées avec son cinématographe.
QUEEN'S REIGN CELEBRATION AT HOLMFIRTH
Never has such a spontaneous outburst of loyalty been equalled, much less excelled, by the inhabitants of the district of the capital of the Holme Valley, and Tuesday morning found thousands of flags, banners, and other decorations floating gently in the breeze in almost every part of the district, including one which led the coronation procession, and the people were filled with enthusiasm.

The old folk's entertainment took place in the Drill Hall, and was well attended and greatly enjoyed.
[...]
A cinematograph entertainment was given during the evening by Mr. H. Bamforth.

Le cinématographe d'Harry Bamforth (National Scholl, 30 décembre 1897)
À l'occasion de la fête parroisiale, Harry Bamforth présente des vues animées :
HOLMFIRTH PARISH CHURCH.-The annual parochial gathering took place on Thurday evening, at the National School. An excellent tea was provided by the lady friends, to which about 140 sat down. Afterwards the schoolroom was well-filled at the entertainment, the proceedings being presided over by the Rev. J. Collins. [...] The second part of the entertainment comprised cinematograph views, shown by Mr. Harry Bamforth. The views included "wise and otherwise," and proved very popular with the audience. An enjoyable evening concluded with the National Anthem and votes of thanks.
