THE Empire, Northampton, was reopened under the a proprietorship of Mlessrs Hewitt, Carty, and Poupart, and the able management of Mr John Munro, on Boxing Night. The hall has been entirely renovated and prettily decorated. The house rapidly filled to its utmost capacity, and a great number of persons had to go away disappointed. The programme was a good one, and included Coates's Velograph, greatly approved of by the vast audience; the John Holland Combination, in their sketch My Friend the Boots; Gus Gauntlett, lance and clubs; J. C. Heffron, with original songs; Chas. Hammond, comedian and dancer ; the charming Sisters Tempest, and Miss Roy Tracey. After the performance the proprietors entertained the artists at supper at the Ram Hotel, the chair being taken by Mr Gordon Hewitt. After the repast served by Host Sadler had been done justice to, the proprietors were congratulated upon the success of the evening. Mr Gordon Hewitt and Mr Carty responded. The proceedings did not terminate until the early hours of the morning.

La Maskelyne and Cooke's Regional Company organise des spectacles en Grande-Bretagne depuis juillet 1899. David Devant en est le responsable et il accompagne la troupe. L'équipe vient de donner des séances pendant quelques jours à Gainsborough. À Northampton, les spectacles ont lieu, pendant une semaine, au Town Hall, à partir du 2 mars 1903 :

L'Eventographe de Charles W. Poole présente des vues animées en août :

POOLE'S 20TH CENTURY COMBINE.
The entertainment coupled with the well-known name of Poole, of diorama fame, may always be relied upon to be of good quality. The pictures, which last evening were sandwiched between layers of comedy, music and magic, were new and interesting. Their up-to-date character was indicated by the fact that the operations of the new submarines were outlined and their terrible effects illustrated. Another particularly modern feature was the cinematograph film of incidents of Mr. Chamberlain's recent tour, and, still later, that the Royal visit to Ireland. For Poole's dioramic pictures are now supplemented by animated photography—or the "eventograph." The photo of her Majesty the Queen as she steps into her carriage, and that of the King are simply admirable. Reverting the panorama itself, a new and interesting series of pictures represents the action of that most pathetic of songs, "Ora pro nobis," a vocal rendition of which is given meanwhile by Miss Gertrude Russell. The usual series of the capitals of Europe, the wonders of Switzerland, the almost unknown regions of Siberia, and many other sights which men crave to see are here brought before the eye with the realism almost of life. The 20th Century Combine has for its variety element a whole battery of talent. The visit to the Town Hall, Northampton, is for fortnight. Matinees: Wednesdays and Saturdays.
