THE MOVING PICTURES.
The moving picture entertainment provided by the Ireland Bros. Entertainment Company last night at Association Hall drew a fair-sized audience. It is a splendid attraction, and was somewhat novel in character to Toronto people. The opening part is devoted to a series of comic scenes, which were received with frequent bursts of laughter. A series of scenes, comprising 32 tableaux in fairyland, depict the fairy tale pictures in as nearly real life as it is possible to get them.
"Uncle Tom's Cabin" was given in fourteen scenes, the pictures showing the characters of Uncle Tom. Marks the Lawyer, Little Eva and Eliza crossing the ice being especially faithful and distinet reproductions, which were followed with intense interest by the spectators.
Miss Madeline Hartman sang several illustrated songs, and the 48th Highlanders' Band. under the leadership of Bandmaster Slatter, played humorous and descriptive selections during the intermission. The entertainment was brought to a close with a series of interesting pictures dealing with a variety of subjects.
The Ireland Company will be at Association Hall all this week, excepting Saturday night, and with a matinee to-day and on Thursday and Saturday at 2.30 p.m.
