MODERN MARVEL COMPANY.- The Modern Marvel Company gave one of their celebrated entertainments last night within the Kinnaird Hall to a large audience. The entertainment, which had obviously entailed considerable expense its promoters, proved to be of the highest order, and the whole proceedings were much enjoyed. Great interest was in the shown the various items on the programme. The zoegraph, an instrument based on the principle of the kinematograph, was used for throwing on the screen a rapidly-succeeding series of pictures. The zoegraph reproduces on the screen about six hundred pictures per minute. The natural scenes presented last night were given as near as possible in all their reality and movement. There was a fine exhibition of the X rays, and some of the photographs shown were of exceptional merit. Animated photographs with a demonstration of the phonograph also proved very enjoyable. Mr Ross Scott kept the audience in good humour by his clever sketches, while Mr J. William was excellent lecturer. Much credit is also due to Mr C. P. Robertson, who acted electrician. This excellent performance will repeated to-night, when no doubt the hall will again well filled.

Le cinématographe d'H. S. Clarke (Gilfillan Hall, 17 novembre 1897)
Dundee Advertiser, Dundee, 17 novembre 1897, p. 1.
On remarque que les " children and all Persons Presenting a Nestle's Milk or Sunlight Soap Wrapper will be Admitted at HALF-PRICE to all Seats.

CHARLES W. POOLE'S MYRIORAMA.
The People's Palace, Dundee, was last night reopened with Mr Charles W. Poole's Myriorama, which revisits the city after the lapse of a number years. The excellence of the entertainment merited the crowded house which assembled to enjoy it. The myriorama consists of a dioramic display a lengthy series of beautifully coloured tableaux, presenting characteristic scenes in every country under the sun, and notable events iv the modern history of the world, such as the destruction of the Maine, the Nausen Expedition, Klondike, the Nile Advance, and the North-West Frontier Campaign, with stirring pictures of the storming of Sempagha Pass and the capture of the heights of Dargai. But the entertainment by means stops here. Indeed, the panorama is merely the background for a capital variety programme, which includes an up-to-date exhibition cinematograph pictures, a display by a troupe of acrobatic dogs, and amusing and thrilling turns by comedians, dancers, quick-change artists, gymnasts, tight-wire walkers, &c. The entertainment last night lasted for nearly three hours, yet maintained the interest of the large audience throughout, a fact which augurs well for a successful run in Dundee.

The Evening Telegraph, Dundee, jeudi 23 mai 1901, p. 1.
GIBBONS' PHONO-BIO-TABLEAUX.
Under favourable auspices Walter Gibbons' Phono-Bio-Tableaux were presented to fairly large audience in the Kinnaird Hall last night, and judging from the success of the entertainment crowded houses should the rule during Mr Gibbons' two weeks' sojourn Dundee. Quite a new feature in regard to animated pictures is the portraying of well-known music hall artistes, while by the aid of the phonograph the ditties particularly identified with the performers are. given the audience. Vesta Tilley, Vesta Victoria, Hawthorne, Alec Harley, and the American Comedy Four are introduced by this means. The phonograph played another important part in the pictures showing the C.l.V.'s leaving Southampton for London. It produced the puffing and snorting of the engine and the shouting of the crowds and the men as the train steamed off. The animated pictures were of great variety, local views taking prominent part, including the workers in Ward Foundry, Gilroy's factory, Lower Dens mill, Keiller's preserve and chocolate factory, and Chapelshade mill leaving their employment. Songs were sung by Mr Charles Baring, and orchestral accompaniments added greatly the enjoyment of the evening.

Dundee Courier , Dundee, 9 novembre 1903, p. 1.
The animated photogaphs were all very realistic. " (Dundee Evening Post, 17 novembre 1903, p. 4).
